Fill a saucepan with 2 cups of water and 1 cup of white granulated sugar. Adjust the heat to medium-low and stir until the sugar dissolves. Adjust the heat to reach a temperature of 75- to 85-degrees Fahrenheit as measured with an instant-read thermometer.

Remove the water-sugar mixture from the heat and pour it into the sterilized canning jar. Add 1/4 oz. of baker's yeast to the jar and stir with the sterilized fork.

Position the lid on the jar but don't secure it as yeast produces carbon dioxide during fermentation and needs an outlet for escape. Place the jar in a cool, dry place and allow it to sit for three days. Add 1 cup of fresh papaya and 1 cup of white granulated sugar to the jar and replace the lid without tightening it.

Ferment the fruit for three days. If you see the carbon dioxide bubbles subside during fermentation, add 1 cup of sugar and stir.

Yeast tends to stick, so using a utensil with a relatively small surface area, such as a fork, is ideal for stirring.

Break and Lunch Laws in North Carolina

The Fair Labor Standards Act does not include any stipulations regarding lunches and breaks at the federal level, leaving state governments the option to impose requirements for giving employees breaks from work. The North Carolina Wage and Hour Act outlines all of the requirements related to wages and breaks in the state. Under the law, break and lunch requirements vary based on employees' ages.

The North Carolina Wage and Hour Act imposes specific rules for breaks and lunches for most employees who are under the age of 16. All private, nonprofit organizations and companies with gross receipts of $500,000 or more per year must adhere to the rules. Under the law, workers under the age of 16 must be given a break of at least 30 minutes after working for five hours. The break can be unpaid.

In North Carolina, employers of any size or type are not required to give breaks to employees who are 16 years of age or older, even if they are minor, dependent students. This includes both meal breaks and rest breaks. If they do allow a break and it lasts for at least 30 minutes, North Carolina employers do not have to pay employees for their breaks and lunches. The law allows employers to require employees to remain on the premises for their breaks.

North Carolina employees must receive pay for any breaks that are less than 30 minutes in duration. In addition, for a break of 30 minutes or more to be unpaid, employees must be completely removed from their work duties. For instance, if an employee is on call to assist a customer who enters a building, his lunch break cannot be unpaid, even if the break lasts for 30 minutes or more. Labor laws in North Carolina do not require employers to give smoke breaks or provide a place for smokers to congregate for breaks; however, the law does prohibit discrimination against smokers. Due to this feature, employers cannot prohibit smokers from taking the same number of paid breaks as nonsmoking employees.

Employees who have not received fair payment for their breaks and lunches can file complaints with the North Carolina Department of Labor. To qualify for complaint filing, employees must have lost more than $50 due to the unfair practice. If the loss amounted to $50 or less, employees must seek compensation on their own through small claims court. In addition, employees must wait for 10 days after receiving the paychecks with the unfair wages prior to filing their complaints. The NCDOL accepts complaints through a telephone hotline, which operates from Monday through Friday.

Loosen and remove four screws on the air box cover with a screwdriver. Lift the lid off the box and disconnect the breather tube attached by hand. Insert the screws and cover aside.

Locate and disconnect the electrical connectors in the front and on the side of the hand throttle bodies.

Stuff a clean cloth each throttle body opened inside the air base to avoid dropping hex bolts in bodies. Loosen and remove four hex bolts at the bottom of the box with a wrench. Put aside the bolts.

Lift the air box and disconnect the crankcase ventilation pipe from base to hand. Remove the air box and set it aside. Take the rags out of the throttle bodies.

Pull the small caps from the throttle body left and right hand balancing fittings. Save the caps. Connect the pipes from the air pressure gauges for balancing. Rest gauges on top of the bike in front of the throttle bodies.

Start the engine and let it warm up for 2 minutes. Adjust the idle to between 1250 and 1350 RPM.

At the base of each throttle body, locate the recessed brass screws. Turn right in both cases screw with a screwdriver until the right counter gauge reads 0.38 LB. Rotate the left in both cases until the left counter reads the same.

Twist grip throttle to the handlebar, once and let the engine back to idle. If necessary, turn the screw both throttle body so two readings are precisely 0.38 LB.

Turn off the engine. Disconnect the throttle bodies from metro lines. Reconnect the caps saved finishes balancing.

Reconnect the air box and cover with the saved bolts and screws. Reconnect the electrical connectors in the front and on the side of the throttle bodies. Reconnect the crankcase breather hose to Carter. Reconnect the fairings, the gas tank and seat.

If necessary, use a gauge of injection carburettor/fuel combination.

The main water supply shut-off valve is usually located between your house and the street, most likely buried in the front or side yard.

All of these requirements must be met for the employee to be considered exempt as an executive.

The FLSA allows exemptions for Learned Professionals and Creative Professionals. Both must be paid a weekly salary of at least $455. The Learned Professional employee's primary work responsibilities and duties must be predominantly intellectual in character, requiring advanced knowledge, in a field of science or learning, with such knowledge acquired by a prolonged course of specialized intellectual instruction. A Creative Professional's primary duty must involve work requiring creativity, imagination, originality or special talent in a recognized artistic or creative field.

An exempt administrative employee must be paid a weekly salary of at least $455, with primary duties involving work directly related to the management activities of the employer's business, which require the exercise of discretion and independent judgment. An exempt computer employee must be paid a weekly salary of at least $455 or at an hourly rate of at least $27.63 and must be qualified and employed as a computer systems analyst, computer programmer, software engineer or other similarly skilled worker in the computer field.

What to Do If a Vax Vacuum Cleaner Stops Working?

 A few simple steps could have your Vax operating to its full potential again. You don't really appreciate your Vax vacuum cleaner until it stops working. It's the first thing you reach for if you spill coffee, salt or sugar on your kitchen floor. It's the old friend you spend time with just before guests arrive, as you get rid of the dust that seems to have accumulated since you went upstairs to get ready. If your Vax suddenly stops operating at just such a critical juncture, don't panic; you can take several steps to get it back in working order.

If the problem is a drop in suction, or complete suction failure, you must first establish the cause. Check the dirt container. If it appears to be full, empty it. Examine the filter. If it is dirty, take it out, clean it, and place it back in position. A blockage between the cleaning head and the dust container will also cause suction problems. To check for this, remove both the dirt container and cleaning wand. This allows you to check the hose inlets for obstructions. If suction failure occurs while you are using tools such as the crevice nozzle or dusting attachment, check for blockages within these accessories.

If your vacuum is not picking up dirt from carpets and rugs, the problem may not lie with the suction, but with the brushroll. This loosens dirt, allowing the suction to remove it from the surface being cleaned. Check to ensure that the brushroll switch is in the "on" position. If this is the case, unplug the cleaner and examine the brushroll. Any threads or other materials caught round it will prevent it from working properly, so remove them straightaway. Finally, press the brushroll reset button, which is located on the rear of the floor cleaning head.

Dust will escape from your Vax cleaner if the dust container or filter are not fitted correctly. A wrongly installed cleaning wand will have the same effect. Check the installation of all three of these parts. If necessary, remove them and secure them back in position. Once again, take the opportunity to empty the dust container, and clean the filter.

The dust container lid must be correctly aligned before you can secure it in position. Remove the lid and realign it, making sure the tabs match up.

Any failure of your Vax cleaner to function when you switch it on, may be due to something as simple as a plug not properly installed, a blown fuse or a thrown trip switch. Check all of these out. If all appears well, your vacuum's thermal protector may well have been activated. If this is the case, allow your Vax to cool down before doing any more vacuuming.
