How to avoid odour tinted wood

 Borrow or buy several fans before you begin your project of staining. Wood stains are coatings of paint-like, tinted in different shades, which are used to highlight the natural beauty of wood grain. Designed for a wide variety of objects, stains can be used indoors or outdoors. Because of the chemicals in the product, wood stains emit smells boring and dangerous. Buy a spot which is announced as a "low-odor", which can be the base rather than water-based oil. Many manufacturers now offer varieties of spot reduce odors and chemical vapors. Some are even in natural products instead of chemical products.

Ventilate the area where the stain will be used. Keep doors and Windows open at any time. When indoors, do not use air conditioning, which will redistribute the odours of the stain.

Color only on a day when the weather can allow appropriate ventilation and fast drying. Avoid rainy days and the days are extremely hot or cold.

Place two fans in the region, one to blow fresh air in the room, such as a window - and the other to enter the room air. This increases the ventilation and air circulation and prevents persistent odor spot.

Wear a disposable face mask or respirator designed to block harmful, or at least, chemical vapors to minimize inhalation of smell. These can be purchased at home improvement or hardware stores.

The position of several bowls of vinegar around the room. Vinegar is known to absorb odours.

Frequent go outside and get fresh air breaks. Even if you use a respirator or mask, a small break from breathing through the mask is recommended for medical purposes.

Run bathroom and ceiling fans in the region. Vapours of wood stain to increase, particularly in warm air and can linger at the top of the room. By using these fans ventilate the area quickly and eliminate odours, as well as facilitate the quick drying stain.


Perform the exterior staining project, if possible.


Fans running and Windows and doors open for at least 48 hours after staining to eliminate harmful odours for air.


Keep children and animals from the area where the wood stain is used.
